All animals have a spirit, and Zen uses her spiritual abilities which makes our friendship all the more fun. She uses her telepathy to non-verbally communicate with me all the time. "Where are you?" she is asking me repeatedly as I type this. Even before I trapped her and I was leaving food for her outside I feel she sensed me. I received visual images of her that she would send me, which I suppose was her way of saying "Hey I hope you're serious about this because I am." I don't even know what you'd call that ability, the sending of clairvoyant images, but she does it very well, and often. I send her telepathic "I love you" messages as often as I can. I think she can feel it.

I believe that both Zen and Bambi have eternal spirits and have had many lives as cats. I believe both me and my fiance have had Zen and Bambi as cats before in past lives. I also believe I was meant to find/trap both of them in this life and that even the general timing of it was planned before this life began. Like many animal guardians, I believe that Zen and Bambi help me even more than I help them.

The behaviorist at Tree House Foundation suggested that I put Bach Flower Essences in Zen's water, and I jumped at the idea. She said to use 4 drops "emergency" formula and 2 drops Mimulus. She said you need to do it at least one month to see a difference. It's supposed to calm her and help her to be less fearful. I admit I stopped doing this later to save money but I did it for about three months and it probably helped.

As far as their health, I now feed Zen and Bambi the kitten formula of Science Diet, which I read clairvoyantly as being slightly more of what they need than other top health brands. I could get it cheapest at PetSmart, but I bought it at TreeHouse Foundation to support them in a small way. **Later I realized that as a TreeHouse volunteer I get a discount so it's cheaper at Tree House. I also occasionally feed them IAMS brand wet food- chicken or turkey only. There are some Whiskas "Temptations" treats I give Zen but I don't do that too much since they're not as healthy. Really if I roll a piece of dry Science Diet food across the floor it's very exciting for her to go after it, so that is as exciting as a treat for her.
